POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Vice President of Growth & Development, you will be responsible for creating revenue generating opportunities for RAC. You likely love storytelling, strategy, stakeholder engagement, and you are passionate about data-informed ideation and social impact. As the Vice President of Growth & Development you will partner with RAC senior leadership and Commissioners to steward the organization's reputation at the local, state and national levels. Additionally, you will cultivate, execute, and manage the external affairs, marketing, and communications functions with existing and new team members.

The essential responsibilities of the for this position are as follows:

  • Works in concert with the President & CEO in forecasting and identifying areas of new revenue generation including but not limited to fee for service, special investment and partnership, individual donations, and organizational grants
  • Creates and executes the fundraising plan, analyzing various metrics and data to measure the success of revenue generating initiatives
  • Delivers fundraising presentations and revenue generating proposals to various stakeholder groups as needed
  • Executes revenue generating events and community partnerships
  • Oversees the process of securing grants including research, grant writing and reporting
  • Collaborates with the marketing team to align growth and revenue goals and marketing efforts with paid, earned, and owned media platforms
  • Partners with Research and Evaluation team to execute market research to better understand the needs of the community RAC serves
  • Supports external affairs efforts with community and stakeholder management including relationship with industry trade organizations
  • Manages outcomes of government affairs department at the national, state and local levels
  • Partner with President & CEO to ensure annual operating and expense budget goals are met
  • Major upcoming projects include RAC's 40th Anniversary Campaign (2025), digital content evolution and statewide arts advocacy campaign
  • Mentors and develops staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assigns accountabilities, develops goals, establishes priorities, conducts annual performance appraisals, and monitors and evaluates results

WHAT QUALIFIES YOU

You have a passion for data-informed ideation, bold thinking, a keen eye for opportunities of improvement, a strong internal motivation, and an ability to think about the future while operating in the here-and-now. You can navigate cross-departmental relationships with ease and communicate clearly to different audiences and stakeholders, and you are comfortable balancing multiple projects with short- and long-term timelines for impact.

Experience and education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, non-profit management, or related field required, Master's degree preferred
  • 15+ years of business management experience, business develop and government affairs a plus
  • 10+ years effectively managing and developing talent (direct-report, teams and consultants)
  • Experience managing and creating budget from $500K - $2MM
  • Proficient and experienced with community stakeholder relationship management
  • Experience using social media and social networking platforms
  • Experience with fundraising applications (Blackbaud) utilizing data to perform donor data analysis and reporting preferred

Knowledge/skills/abilities:

  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial growth-stage environment
  • Demonstrated ability to obtain results through effective leadership and communication
  • Working knowledge of long-range strategic planning process and revenue forecasting
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including active listening and delivering/receiving feedback
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to build and develop internal and external relationships with individuals, groups, and communities of diverse backgrounds through strong interpersonal skills promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Effective organizational skills, a strong attention to detail and can effectively manage competing deadlines
  • Flexible, collaborative, team player who can positively and productively impact both strategic and operational initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving skill and the ability to work as a part of a team as well as make decisions independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Salary Range:

Salary Range for this position is $102,515 - $158,899.
